What we do

Event Assessments

These assessments are designed as a snapshot (4-6 weeks) of work where we deliver strategic, customized recommendations on:

  • Review of net vs. gross event revenue and areas for improvement
  • Landscape analysis of other events in your region
  • Improvements in event agenda/theme
  • Staffing and logistics coverage
  • Mission both at and after the event

The result is a targeted plan equipping you to maximize your event's revenue and long-term impact.

How the engagement runs

  1. Gather the true numbers

We build the real cost of each event, including the line most budgets leave out: staff time. An event that nets well on paper can be your most expensive activity once the hours are counted.

  2. Watch the room

Where timing allows, we attend. We watch what guests experience, who is in the room, and whether anyone is moving attendees toward a relationship with the organization or just toward the bar.

  3. Report the return

You receive an event-by-event accounting: gross, net, net per staff hour, and what each event contributes to the donor pipeline beyond the night itself. The numbers are yours, presented without varnish.

  4. Recommend the portfolio

We tell you which events to keep, which to fix, and which to retire, and we give you a plan for retiring them gracefully. Including, when the numbers say so, the gala the board loves.

What you receive

  • A per-event cost and return analysis, staff hours included
  • A pipeline analysis of who attends and what they give afterward
  • A portfolio recommendation: keep, fix, or retire, event by event
  • A transition plan for any event you step away from

Who does the work

Senior consultants do the analysis and deliver the findings in person, including the uncomfortable ones. Most event assessments run six to ten weeks depending on how many events are in scope and where they fall in your calendar.

How fees work

A fixed fee, scoped to the number of events under review. You know the cost before we begin. The assessment usually pays for itself in the first event you stop doing.

Senior consultants stay in the room from kickoff through implementation.
